Music To Your Ears?
The news, hopefully, as this is not instrumental, but it is vocal. Not singing, however, but my voice narrating (and doing the voices of the characters) in the soon-to-be launched audiobook of Amanda Cadabra and The Flawless Plan, third in the series, now with the ACX gods judging its quality (kindly, I’d like to think) for publishing on Audible, Amazon and Apple Books. Only days now to go till launch, so look out for news on the Holly Bell pages on social media and, of course, here.
On Tour Near You
Next, on 17th September, a one-week blog tour begins, during the course of which I will be answering such interview questions as ‘If your latest book were a soundtrack, what song plays over the end credits?’ My most challenging to date! Just in case you’re wondering what a ‘blog tour’ is, it’s also called a ‘virtual tour’. Each day for a week or two, say, a book blogger with a website and/or social media page will share your book details with their followers. They might ask you for a guest post, an excerpt (as 5 bloggers on this one have) or an interview.
Why This One?
The last blog tour I did was with Great Escapes Virtual Tours for 2 weeks with 15 ‘hosts’, for the latest book Amanda Cadabra and the Twilight Toxin. It was during the course of that that it seemed to me that although all of these bloggers were focusing on cozy paranormal mystery/urban fantasy, some of them and perhaps many of their followers had not come across the series before.
And so … it occurred to me to do another tour for book 1 to introduce the books to new readers. Among the hosts on that tour was Amber, of Sapphyria’s Book Promotions. I signed up with Amber, timing the tour for after the new audiobook comes out to give audiobook listeners the 
first 3 books to bite into (so to speak!)
Will book 4 be on audiobook? That is the plan. I intend to edit the raw recording after this, the next huge event.
The Wild One
I have no control over when this happens. I can plan and say, next year, after I have edited and maybe released some more audiobooks, but it can come at any time. And, in the midst of the release of audiobook 2, the editing of book 3, and the preparation for the new tour and the creation of the new shop collection, it decided to arrive.

And here it is: the culmination of the video teaser I’ve had going on Facecbook for the last two weeks:
Yes, the new sequel in the Amanda Cadabra series: Book 10. The plot is written, and the first 12 chapters are pretty much as they will be in the finished book, with about 30,000 words in the main document. Usually, the books are around 90,000 words, so that gives you some idea of where we are with it.
When will it come out? Well, there is a lot of ground to cover: finishing the first draft, cleaning it up, 5 editing passes, checks by the sub-editors, the cover to be created, the paperback formatted and the launch machine built. I know when it wants to come out (it’s a live one!), but can I do it? Let’s see!
